What Newbie Parents is
Newbie Parents helps your family record your child's care, see summaries worked out from what you've logged, and read general guidance that names its source. It isn't a medical device, a healthcare provider or an emergency service.
It doesn't:
- diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition;
- prescribe treatment or work out medicine doses;
- confirm an allergy;
- check that your family's entries are complete or correct; or
- replace advice from a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional.
About your family's records
Entries made by your family may be incomplete, late or wrong. Summaries and Insights describe only what has been logged. A gap is missing information, not zero, and a pattern isn't a diagnosis, a score or a verdict.
About our guidance
We start with Singapore's health services and hospitals, such as HealthHub and KKH. When they don't cover a topic, we use recognised bodies elsewhere, such as the World Health Organization or the American Academy of Pediatrics, and we say so. Every tip names its source.
General guidance may not fit your child. Check important decisions about health, medicine, feeding and safety with a qualified healthcare professional.
Things to keep in mind
Allergens
A reaction you log is a family record, not an allergy diagnosis. Follow the introduction and reaction guidance shown with its source. If its urgent-care advice applies, act on it now, and don't wait for the app.
Symptoms
Record what you saw, not a diagnosis. If symptoms worry you, change quickly or match urgent-care advice, contact a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.
Temperature
A temperature entry doesn't diagnose illness. Use a suitable thermometer, and follow the source-reviewed guidance and urgent-care advice shown with it.
Medicine
The app records medicine; it doesn't prescribe or work out doses. Check the medicine, dose and timing against the label and your child's doctor or pharmacist, and don't rely on the app as your only reminder.
Feeding
Feeding guidance is general, from named sources, not a plan for your child. Every child's needs differ. Ask a qualified healthcare professional if feeding, intake or growth worries you.
Insights and summaries
These sum up the entries your family has made. A gap is missing, not zero. A summary isn't a score, a diagnosis, a prediction of illness or a medical conclusion.
Emergencies and reminders
Don't rely on Newbie Parents to spot an emergency, watch your child all the time, remind you on time, or keep working during an outage.
If you're worried about your child's health, speak to a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional. In a life-threatening emergency in Singapore, call 995. Elsewhere, call your local emergency number.
Where the app shows urgent-care advice from a named source, follow it. This page never replaces or softens that advice.
