Delete it in the app

  1. Open Newbie Parents and sign in.
  2. Go to More, then Settings, then Account settings and deletion, then Delete account.
  3. Check what will change for your family, then confirm. The app may ask you to sign in again first, to make sure it's you.

If you can't sign in

You don't need the app. Email privacy@newbieparents.app from the address you use for Newbie Parents, and say you'd like your account deleted.

We'll reply to check the request is really from you. Once it's confirmed, we'll delete your account within 30 days and email you when it's done.

Please don't send ID documents, child records or medical details. If we need more to confirm it's you, we'll ask for as little as possible.

Email a deletion request

What happens straight away

  • You're signed out on every phone.
  • You lose access to every family you belong to.
  • Invitations to or from you that haven't been accepted are cancelled.
  • Notifications stop.
  • Changes still waiting to sync from your phones are turned away.

What we delete within 30 days

We delete your account and personal data from our live systems, and every care entry you added, including notes.

That includes entries you shared with your family, such as a feed you logged, so your family's history and summaries may change.

We don't move your entries to anyone else. If your family needs something you recorded, such as details on the care card, another Owner or Caregiver should record it again before you delete your account.

What stays, and why

  • Entries other people added. These belong to their accounts, so they stay with the family.
  • Backups. Deleted data can stay in our database provider's rotating backups, out of use, until those backups expire. If we ever restore a backup, we apply deletions again before anyone can see the data.
  • Phones that are offline. A phone clears your family's data when it next connects. We can't reach a phone that never reconnects, or screenshots and copies made outside Newbie Parents.

What we keep for a limited time

We keep a few records, with none of your care entries in them, to show that we handled your request, what you agreed to, and to protect families from misuse:

  • your deletion request, for 24 months after it's complete;
  • which versions of our terms and privacy policy you accepted, for 24 months after your account is deleted; and
  • records of sign-in and security events, for 12 months.

The PDPA doesn't set fixed periods for these, so they're our own limits. We keep anything longer only if the law requires it, such as a court order, and only for as long as that lasts.

If you're the only Owner

Before your account is deleted, choose what happens to the family: add another Owner, who must accept, or close the family. Closing it deletes the family's children and records for everyone.

We won't make a Helper the Owner automatically.

Other options

Leave a family instead

You lose access to that family straight away, but your account stays, and the entries you added stay with the family. If you delete your account later, your entries are deleted then.

Delete a child or close a family

Only an Owner can do this, in More, then Settings, then Family & household. Everyone loses access straight away, and we delete the data from our live systems within 30 days.

See or correct your data first

Email privacy@newbieparents.app to ask for a copy of your personal data or to correct it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle these requests.
